TWO BORNO LGAs UNDER BOKO HARAM CONTROL~ ZULUM

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum said that Borno state needs collaborative efforts of all security agents in the country to crush the Islamic State’s West Africa Province terrorists.

This is as he disclosed that two local government in the state are under the control of the terrorist group.

Zulum said that as Boko Haram terrorists surrender more ISWAP terrorists became sophisticated, deadly and continue to increase in number.

The Governor made this known while briefing Senate Committee on the Army led by Ali Ndume at the State Government House.

The Borno State Governor expressed grave concern about how sophisticated, educated, armed and brutal ISWAP terrorists are more than Boko Haram and that as such, their operations were becoming more pronounced around the southern and extreme northern parts of Borno State.

“It is an early warning for us as a government to understand the working system of ISWAP. We need to check them, chase them out while at their early stage, before they become stronger and a serious problem for us to handle.

“They have been carrying out attacks in the southern and core northern part of Borno State. ISWAP has checkpoints between Damboa and Biu. They are collecting taxes from communities in these areas. Some few days ago, I got a very good intelligence that they held a wedding for over 300 fighters in the Mandara Mountains and they rode over 300 motorcycles. Something needs to be done.”

Zulum appreciated the gallantry efforts of the security agents in teaming the tide of insecurity in the State, adding that the situation was not as worse as it was years back.

“Somewhere along the line, we were able to understand the missing link. The missing link is synergy. There was no synergy between the government, the military, the police, the Civilian JTF and all other partners,” the governor added.

"Over the last few months, my administration has worked closely with internet providers — this is a case where big business stepped up — urging them to cut their prices and raise their speeds. I'm trying to get others to do the same thing with inflation, but these guys are the best," Biden said in the Rose Garden on Monday, drawing laughs with the last line. Biden has repeatedly blamed high inflation rates on corporate greed. "So now," he continued, "families who are eligible can select a plan from a participating provider and receive high-speed internet at no cost in most cases."
